I have been in service to the dream in the Society for Creative Anachronism since I was a teen. I have watched the dancers around the campfires and learned how to drum, yet danced very little as I thought I couldn’t move that way.
After much thought I took my first professional belly-dance classes from Rooshana, I have also had the pleasure of learning from Mahaila Fitna, Eva Cernik, and also Suzanna Del Vecchio. I was surprised and absolutely thrilled when asked to join RaksBenazir, and while I was intimidated with performing live, after being successful at not dropping the sword at The Mercury Café, I knew I was ‘home’ with RaksBenazir. We are all so in tune with each other we finish each other’s ‘dance’ sentences. I am so thankful for the sisterhood (even with the guys) that I have found in the Dance. Believe me when I say ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet’ WATCH OUT for RaksBenazir.
